From June 18 to 27, 2025, EGSP-IMBUTO Ltd proudly participated in AGRISHOW 2025, a major platform focused on the theme: “Leveraging Innovation and Investment for Building Resilient and Sustainable Agri-food Systems.” Our presence at the exhibition highlighted EGSP-IMBUTO’s core mission: strengthening Rwanda’s seed potato value chain through innovation-driven early generation seed production.
Our exhibition focused on demonstrating EGSP-IMBUTO LTD’s role in the early generation seed potato value chain. Specifically, we highlighted how the company acts as both a market and technical support hub for its network of greenhouse out growers, who produce high-quality minitubers under controlled environments. EGSP-IMBUTO LTD then uses these minitubers to produce pre-basic and basic potato seeds, ensuring a reliable supply of certified seed for farmers across the region. We also explained how minitubers are (by using either aeroponic , sandponic or conventional method) produced in out growers’ green house (SPF-JOINT VENTURES, CODERNYA IBAKWE and other individuals, cooperatives with greenhouses).
During the exhibition, we displayed sample minitubers and a sample of pre-basic seed potatoes, giving visitors a tangible view of the seed multiplication process. Many were amazed by how such small, carefully produced minitubers could be cultivated to yield high-quality pre-basic seed, thanks to the precision and consistency of greenhouse technology.
The display attracted significant interest from farmers, researchers, agribusiness professionals, and potential partners. Many attendees requested further engagement, took business cards and contact details for future field visits and seed orders. The event proved to be a valuable opportunity to raise awareness about early generation seed production and expand EGSP-IMBUTO LTD’s outreach. opens up new opportunities for partnership and expansion.
Participation in AGRISHOW 2025 was an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of EGSP-IMBUTO LTD ‘s contribution to the transformation of Rwanda’s seed potato sector, and to build new partnerships that will strengthen early generation seed systems nationwide.
